I have a bunch of tackle boxes, but I grew up fishing with my grandfather using this tackle box. He still has his and now I have it. Great memories.Purchased this box as a tackle box for use on a sailing trip to the Bahamas. My two nephews want to fish, so I have put together a selection of tackle to fish for snapper and grouper around the shallow reefs - 10' to 30'.I had my doubts about this box, but it turned out to be perfect for my needs. I have included 15 3oz bucktail jigs, 15 1oz bucktail jigs and 15 1/2oz bucktail jigs. They all fit very nicely in the longer compartments shown in the picture. I have included various sizes of "naked" hooks (for live bait), swivels, snap links etc that fit in the shorter compartments pictured. On the other side, I have included a fairly large fisherman's pliers, a hook removal tool, an armored glove (some grouper and snapper have VERY impressive dentition) and a fish scale in the largest compartment. I have included various assortments of lead sinkers in two other compartments. And I have included a wide assortment of Uncle Josh's Pork Rinds in the six smaller compartments.I honestly have to say, if I designed this box myself, I don't think I could have done a better job of meeting my personal needs. The only part of this fishing "kit" that doesn't fit in the box are the spools of fishing line. And the truth is, the retail spools of fishing line have such varied sizes that trying to include space for them would be a hopeless task anyway. So, kudos to the Plano Corp. I like the design of their box, and it appears to be sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of this planned trip. If I have anything less positive to say after the trip, I will post an update (late July, 2014). So, if you don't see an update, I stand by my initial rating.Very sturdy and lots of compartments of various sizes for organizing small to medium items. This Plano 2 sided tackle box is sturdy and well made. I am able to put all my most important fishing tackle gear in it. I would suggest to Plano that the longer narrow compartments be made for dividers in order to customize the compartments better and prevent entangling some of the lures.Just what I wanted. I use this in a kayak and its perfect. The last one was a lot of effort to open. They fixed that problem. This Plano double sided tackle box was purchased because my original double sided Plano tackle box wore out. This new box is configured somewhat differently on each side than my original Plano double sided tackle box. It is large enough and close enough to the original that it will meet my needs for a replacement. I have many Plano boxes of various sizes. This new one will join the others in giving many more years of good fishing. Plano makes a good product. That is the main reason for purchasing another Plano box. I will retire the old box to be recycled. The new box will be used early in 2013 along with a new Abu Garcia reel also purchased from Amazon. I am very pleased with the service received from Amazon.Good tackle box for a light day use when I don't want to lug my big one around.Love this tackle box! I own a lot of tackle, and have a very large tackle box, the kind that when the top is opened, the inside compartments swing out from the center. It requires a lot of room to fully open up. But when I just want to take my little Bass Raider boat out for an evening of fishing, with my dog, this box is perfect. Holds plenty, and with the see thru lids, both front and back, I can just flip open the lid and grab what I want. As a second box, or a starter box, this is the one to buy!Quality product. Nice size. Not too big or too small. Holds plenty of tackle and easy to carry. Perfect for what I needed.I did not get paid or receive anything for this review. I personally purchased and paid for this item from amazon.ca (verified purchase). The Plano 111906 ( 19 compartment ) Double Sided tackle box is just the correct size and weight for those quick excursions for a few hours of fishing. I have a Plano 757 ( 4 drawer ) and it’s larger cousin the Plano 758 ( 4 drawer ) and the Plano two level satchel 1155. All three of these tackle boxes are the very best tackle boxes that Plano has made to date and all three are absolutely beautiful but are large and heavy. What defines a great tackle box for me is the ease of ability to select your tackle and the over all quality of the construction of the box with the latching system being my very first priority. If a tackle box does not have a quality latching mechanism I simply will not buy it.The Plano 111906 Double Sided tackle box has the same quality latching system as all my other Plano boxes. As you can see in the photos this small tackle box will accommodate a lot of fairly large tackle. Those large minnow lures you see are Rapala Magnum’s 14 and 18 that are 7 and 8 inches long and the Jointed lure is a J-13 Rapala that is well over 5.5 inches long. None of the compartments are deep enough to hold a spare reel. The size of the box is 13.5 x 9.5 x 4.25 and it weighs just a shade over 2 pounds. It has brilliant transparent green lids with a Creamy white / Sandstone colour for the body. I’m very pleased with my purchase.I recommend this quality product to all and I hope you enjoyed my review and it was helpful. One of the hinge pins slid out during first use. Not a good sign for the overall durability/longevity. Plastic seems just ok. Not something that can be dropped more than a foot. Lid fits nice and tight once buckled….if you have all four hinge pins! Not recommended.Once again, I default to what is by far the best value out there for your hard earned cash. Brass latches, heavy duty plastic and a name known for quality. As I add to my fishing collection, Plano is added at every step of the way. Highly recommended! KSThe compartments are a good size for plugs and spoons on one size, and on the other the compartments are good for leader line spools, hootchies, etc.Because I fish from a smaller open boat I like these satchel sized tackle boxes. I fill them with lures etc. for the fish I am targeting that day.
