Before firing, Marsha McCarthy's built vessels and tiles are incised with images and language that reflect her interest in classical and ancient art, myth, nature, animals, personal growth and the environment. After firing, the pieces are underglazed, refired and finished with natural dyes, waxed and buffed. Lions of Judah by Marsh McCarthy is a 4" x 4" clay artwork housed in an 6" x 6" x6" Cherry wood box. It features two Lions of Judah and below them the Torah with "Chai" on it. Marsha is a graduate of Boston's Museum School of Fine Arts where she studied painting. Her works are offered as framed limited and open edition tiles, vessels, plaques, boxes and ornaments.
