Read the instructions before you open the lockbox and remove the red tag. Unfortunately, I didn't do that, and I didn’t realize I wouldn't be able to change the password afterward. I made that mistake, so I definitely recommend reading the instructions first.I wanted a safe place to store items that I don’t want my five-year-old son to access. Previously, I had been keeping these items on a high shelf out of his reach. For this purpose, the lockbox works great. As my son gets older, I’m sure I'll need to switch to a more secure option, but that's not a concern for me right now.I keep things like my X-Acto knife in the lockbox, but nothing of super high value. As others have mentioned, it would be pretty easy to break into, but since I'm primarily using it to keep basic items away from my son, I'm not worried about potential thieves. I appreciate that it doesn't sacrifice aesthetics either; instead of having a big, ugly safe on my art desk, I have this super cute lockbox where I can store my sharp knives and various project tools.
