Although I use utility knives for a variety of tasks one of the most prevalent is opening boxes and other packaging. With a traditional blade I'll sometimes retract the blade somewhat, but then I often end up using multiple passes to complete the task, occasionally having to extend the blade in some spots, defeating my original intent of keeping the blade from penetrating the box too deeply.So I moved to hook blades - they are great for opening boxes as well as for other tasks. And because of their shape they are less likely too penetrate too deeply, while they still are effective at cutting tape, blister packs, etc.These blades came in 2 small plastic containers, which containers I'll continue to use to store the blades. They fit easily and quickly into my utility knife. One of the keys to using a utility knife (or any knife, for that matter) is maintaining a sharp blade. That way the knife does the work. These will allow me to swap out blades often enough to keep that sharp blade always at the ready. And my initial experience is that these are plenty sharp!
