Needs are not the same for everyone, so please recognize that in my review. My mother is a technophobe who would never be able to set this up, which is neither hard nor easy, but some may find it tedious. I didn't want my mother to do that, so I give it a pass. You have two daily alarms that can both be disabled but you can't change the style of alarm or sound, nor can you limit it to anything other than all seven days.The daily pill boxes are approximately 1" x 1/2" x 1" with slightly less space due to the angled top but more than good enough for a couple of vitamins and several tablets. The pill box is well designed to open without removing due to a lower tab but also still remains easy to remove; However, the labeled boxes can be put back in the wrong linear order required for the alarm if the user is subject to confusion and can't id the labels.As mentioned, the alarm and sound won't be seen or heard if it gets under bed clothes or the like. It's also very lightweight and easy to move or knock off a table. Mounting is not practical without work as the speaker and battery compartment are underneath. Still, kept on a table, it will be heard and the box in the slot for the current alarm will glow red. The largest button "Next Alarm" is pushed once to disable the sound and once again to disable the light (glow) after which it won't alert again until the next alarm. If an alarm is not answered, it will sound for 5 minutes every 30 minutes , 2 minutes at 100%, 2 minutes at 150%, 1 minute at 200%. There is a sleep mode but thankfully it's hard to mistakenly activate, requiring holding a button for 20 seconds which my mother will never do. Along the same lines, the initial programming is hard enough that she is unlikely to do it by mistake.The unit displays a large print current time and slightly smaller next alarm time, but the current day is small, there is no date and the display is LCD sans backlight, making hard to see in a darkened room with reduced vision.Having said all this, one might think I am going to give it a negative review, but I am not. It's many levels of helpful beyond a simple dispenser and I think of it as very good for their first iteration. For their next iteration, I would like to see them address the above and a couple of more things. One, make a full day, date and time display. This won't add to the function per say but will act as a bonus making it easier for elderly users suffering confusion to remain centered, especially if back lit. Two, separate programming and responding even more so than it is so responders can't accidentally do the former. A pin code may help. Still, on this front, it's already pretty good so don't take that as a major issue.I am adding a footnote: Per their website, they have a 71% uptake rate and the alarm was chosen as is after trying several models to increase this rate. When it ran for extended periods, some users would remove the batteries or otherwise disable to unit rather than take their medicine. That sounds like my mom, and I am glad they did that.
